Jabi Lake Park is located next to Jabi Lake in the west of Abuja on the opposite side to Jabi Lake Mall.
The park is open 24/7 but it is not advisable to go at night since there is no security. It is busiest on weekends, especially in the mornings, when hundreds of people visit the park for exercise or just to relax.
Aside from just having a leisurely walk around the park, the following activities are on offer:
- Fitness – there are a range of fitness instructors who work in the park. Some have more equipment than others, and some are probably more experienced than others. I have been training with King Victor, or teaches boxing and personal training, and I highly recommend him. You can contact him here: https://www.instagram.com/de_kingsfitness/?hl=en
- Rowing / Canoeing / Kayaking – the Nigeria Rowing Federation opened a Canoe Training Centre in February 2022 and they have a range of boats that you can take out on the lake. However, you have to be member to use their facilities, which costs 100,000 per year.
- Football – there are plenty of groups playing football in the park but I don’t know how you join them.
- Massage – there are plenty of masseuses offering their services in the park, just approach one and ask for more information. Alternatively, King Victor can recommend you one.
- Roller skating – this is mainly aimed at Children and the equipment is not all the newest, but it’s available and looks fun.
There are also plenty of shops and small cafes inside the park.
